Efficient by Design
At the heart of the XMV4140 is Yamaha’s patent-pending output voltage-matching circuit, working in sync with its Class D amplifier technology to push operating efficiency beyond 90%. Automatic voltage switching ensures the amp draws only what’s needed lowering energy use while delivering consistently clear, powerful audio output. Paired with Power Factor Correction, the XMV4140 balances power delivery to reduce current draw without sacrificing sound performance, no bulky cables or circuit overloads required.
Versatile Impedance Handling
One of the standout features of the XMV4140 is its ability to drive low-impedance (4Ω/8Ω) and high-impedance (70V/100V) speaker systems at the same time. With 140W per channel at low impedance and 125W at high impedance, you get flexible output options without needing multiple amps or external transformers. Even better, you can assign 70V or 100V operation to any channel pair, eliminating the need for bridge-mode workarounds.
Need more power for larger speakers? Activate Double Power Mode to double the output on select channels. And with intelligent onboard protection covering overheating, overcurrent, and impedance mismatch the XMV4140 is ready to run nonstop, even in less-than-ideal conditions.
Smarter System Redundancy
Things can go wrong during live operation but the XMV4140 is built to handle interruptions gracefully. In Backup Mode, the amp automatically switches from digital to analog inputs if the digital feed is lost, then switches back when restored. In Override Mode, the system can switch inputs instantly ideal when a voice mic needs to cut in over background music or other content.
Each channel allows for individual input source selection and supports mixing digital and analog Euroblock connections, providing maximum installation flexibility.
Seamless Integration with YDIF and Yamaha Ecosystem
With built-in YDIF (Yamaha Digital InterFace) support, you can link the XMV4140 over standard Ethernet cabling ideal for integrating into larger audio networks. It’s fully compatible with Yamaha’s MTX and MRX Series processors, making it easy to configure and control your setup via the MTX-MRX Editor software or optional control interfaces like PV Touch, PV Control, and PV Amp Editor. Whether you’re managing a single venue or a multi-zone system, it all connects with clarity and control.
